![]() ![]() Since Tahr Puppy 6.0.5 is the latest puppy of this type, shouldn't this imply that whatever hardware drivers it comes with are the latest of their kind? In any case, how can one get and install updated drivers in Tahr 6.0.5? A quick look at the NVIDIA website failed to locate any reference to my exact type of graphics card, which by now must be at least 9 years old. In addition, I would like to ask the following: Since I have never upgraded any drivers in my system before, I would appreciate any help on how to go about it. As a first step towards carrying this out, I obtained from Pup-Sysinfo System Information the info that my graphics card is NVIDIA G84. Referring the matter to Mozilla Support produced the suggestion to upgrade my graphics drivers. Reverting to the creation of a new firefox profile was also eventually unsuccessful because the Firefox Profile Manager, which is needed to do this, failed to open. Unfortunately refreshing firefox did not solve the problem. As I was trying this, I was prompted by a Mozilla Support page to refresh firefox as an easier approach to solving the problem. Running a Google search for this problem brought up some articles recommending the creation of a new firefox profile and deleting previous ones. ![]() This behavior was not the case with Firefox 32 and 45.0.2 where context menus were displayed normally. ![]() In their place, empty black boxes appear which normally would contain text explaining the function of the respective icons or links when the cursor hovers over them. Unfortunately, in this latest version context menus do not come up. Following an update of relevant repositories to add needed packages for GTK3, I was able to update firefox to the latest version of 49.0.1. After downloading Tahr Puppy 6.0.5 and while going through the early trials, I installed Firefox 32 using the PPM and later updated it to Firefox 45.0.2. ![]()
